The only block that won't work is a Delta since they were until recently made in the U.S. I'd try either a Grizzly or if they have one at a local Home Depot the riser block for a Ridgid band saw.

A glue up with end grain as the load bearing surfaces would be best for the riser blocks. End grain would resist wear better and hold the vertical height through weather changes better.
